Buying A Used Car
Buying a used car is often a smart
financial decision. It is also a transaction full of potential
disasters. Read on.
Car Health
Maintaining your car is important if
you want it to run without problems and stay like new. Here are some
maintenance tips. Before you hit the road, make sure your car is in
good mechanical condition and you should know what to do if it
fails.
Basic Maintenance
For some the wallet-pain of
servicing bills is nothing compared to the hassle of
levering out brake pads and hammering stuck oil filters
free. But you don’t need to rely on the hands of a skilled
mechanic for everything. Spend a few minutes on your car
with some basic tools and you could save yourself some cash.
You won’t even get the dirty.
Aggressive Driving
To qualify as an aggressive
driving offense, the person’s driving must be an immediate hazard to
another person or vehicle. Drivers know it when they see it. Cars racing
down a crowded road, darting in and out of lanes, tailgating, and
drivers yelling and gesturing at others, are all behaviors that are
recognized as aggressive driving.
Don't Let Friend
Drive Drunk
Traffic crashes are the
leading causes of death and injury for Malaysians. With the
festive season around the corner don't let your holiday
scene turn into a crash scene.
Drug And Driving
You can’t judge drivers by
their age – just look at teenagers. They receive more citations and
cause far more accidents than people in any other age group. However,
that does not make every teen a menace behind the wheel, and likewise,
many seniors continue to be perfectly safe drivers well into their 80s.
Talking To Your Car's Best Friend
The
benefits of sticking to a regular maintenance schedule for
our cars have been drummed into us again and again. However,
when things go wrong, as they inevitably do, being able to
communicate effectively with your workshop will help solve
the problem in a more efficient manner.
What exactly does alignment do for you?
When the wheels of your car are correctly
aligned, they will roll smoothly, eliminate the dangers of
dragging or slipping, and reduce steering effort. This
affords you better steering control and stability, as well
as greater driving safety. Properly aligned wheels also
ensure that your tyres' wear evenly. So less strain is
placed on the suspension of your car.
Why engines burn oil
Valves are located above the combustion
chamber in the cylinder head. The valve-train is lubricated
by pumping oil at 50 – 80 psi of pressure into the top of
the head. Seals are placed at the top of the valves to stop
the flow of oil down into the engine when the valve is open.
When the seals fail, more oil than is necessary will flow
down into the combustion chamber and burned.
When the engine won't turn over - Step by step guide
If you are using automatic transmission, turn the key while
holding the gearshift lever firmly in the park position. If
nothing happens, try again with the lever in neutral
position. If using a manual transmission, be sure to push
the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. If the car starts
up after any of these steps, a faulty safety neutral switch
causes the problem. If the engine refuses to turn over,
remove the keys from the ignition and follow these next
steps.
